Privacy Supplement and Overseas Disclosure Notice

Tank Insurance Pty Ltd (ABN 83 667 323 579) is a Corporate Authorised Representative (CAR No 001305231) of Metrix Connect Pty Ltd (ABN 55 742 327 931, AFSL 525491). Tank Insurance is not an AFSL holder. We handle your personal information in line with the Metrix Connect Privacy Policy, which applies to us as a Corporate Authorised Representative. This supplement should be read together with that policy. It provides additional Tank-specific information about how we use overseas support staff to deliver our services.
Our overseas support team
Some of our support team are based overseas, currently in the Philippines and India. They may access and handle your personal information to help us prepare quotes, process renewals, carry out administration, assist with claims, and communicate with you. They work under the supervision of an Australian-based broker and do not provide insurance advice.
Tank treats this overseas handling as a disclosure of your personal information to recipients in the Philippines and India. Your information is handled within Tank-controlled systems, and we remain accountable for how it is handled.
How we protect your information when it is accessed from overseas
- Our overseas staff work only on Tank-owned devices and within Tank-controlled systems, secured by two-factor authentication. There is no remote-desktop setup. In the course of their work they may download or save material where required, but only onto those Tank-owned devices or within Tank-controlled systems. They are not permitted to use personal devices, personal email, personal storage or personal accounts for Tank client information.
- Their access to and handling of your information is subject to audit, and they are bound by written confidentiality and data-handling obligations.
- We take reasonable steps to make sure your personal information is handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles, and we remain accountable for how it is handled, as the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) requires.
- Our overseas support team does not provide insurance advice. All insurance advice and recommendations are reviewed and approved by an Australian-based broker before they are provided to you.
