You introduce, we advise

Referral partners simply pass on a client's details or make an introduction. You are not expected, or asked, to give insurance advice or recommend a policy.

Most referrals are not paid

Many of our partner relationships are built on trust that we will look after the people you send our way. In some cases we have a paid referral arrangement in place.

Any fee comes out of what we earn

Where we pay a referral fee, it is a share of what we earn on the policy. It is never charged on top of your client's premium, and it is set out in a written agreement.

We tell your client

Where we give a client personal advice and a referral payment applies, we let that client know. It is part of our standard disclosure.

We only act with permission

When you share someone's details, we will ask you to confirm you have their permission for us to get in touch.

Do I need an insurance licence to refer a client to Tank?

No. Referral partners simply introduce a client or pass on their contact details. Tank provides all of the insurance advice and arranges the cover. You are not expected to give advice or recommend a policy.

Most of our referral relationships are not paid. In some cases we have a paid referral arrangement in place. Where a fee applies, it is a share of what we earn on the policy, never an extra cost to your client, and it is set out in a written agreement.

What happens to my client after I refer them?

Our team will contact your client, take the time to understand what they need, and arrange suitable cover. We keep you informed that your client has been looked after.

What details do you need to take a referral?

Your client's name and the best way to contact them, plus a quick note on what they need cover for. We will ask you to confirm you have your client's permission to share their details with us.
